Register by May 30 for Summer 2024 High School Course Recovery & Credit Obtainment
A middle and high school summer course recovery and credit obtainment program will be held for students currently enrolled in the Tuscaloosa County School System. For Summer 2024, there will be a $100 per course charge for credit recovery/obtainment courses—2 courses maximum. The program will run Monday - Thursday each week, June 3 - June 27, 2024. We will not meet on Wednesday, June 19. Completed CR and CO courses DO NOT replace the original failing grade on a student’s transcript; see below for final grade options.
The deadline for registration to be received is Thursday, May 30, 2024.
The attached application must be completed (including required signatures and payment) and returned to the school counselor’s office:
· Rising 10th graders – Mrs. Hughes – lmhughes@tcss.net

· Rising 12th graders – Mrs. Woodroof – ewoodroof@tcss.net
*Recovery is for previously attempted courses with a 40-59 final average
*Obtainment is for previously attempted courses with less than a 40 final average
By signing the attached form, the student and parent/guardian understand that:
· Coursework is completed through the Edgenuity online learning platform.
· Students who require a NCAA-approved course must take ACCESS courses; the fee is $100 per ACCESS NCAA-approved course. If you need an ACCESS course, see your school counselor as soon as possible.
· The program begins on June 3 and ends on June 27, 2024.
· Students must provide their own transportation.
· Students must work on campus at Hillcrest HS from 8 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. each day.
· Credit Recovery requires completion of all assignments and 60 is placed on transcript.
· Credit Obtainment requires completion of all assignments; final average placed on the transcript is determined by the student’s overall average in the online course.
· Credits will be applied to transcripts upon completion of the course(s).
